In 1976, there were two L.D.S.missionaries serving in Germany near East Berlin.  They would see the tanks and guards patrolling the streets.  When they walked down one street near a communist guard post, the guards would say "its the church boys" and point their guns at them as they walked home.  Their apartment looked over the "no man's land" between the countries.  One of the missionaries saw a man climb over the wall trying to escape from communism.  One of the communist guards shot him, and he bled to death.  Days later his body was carried away in a wheel barrow.
